Cuisine
with Roots
Ingredients from the land, recipes from generations.
A gastronomic experience in the heart of Marão.
House Highlights
Dishes prepared with regional products, slow-cooked in the time-honoured way.

Ingredients with a story
At Tasca do Valado, each dish begins with the choice of ingredients. The onions come directly from local producers in Baião. The potatoes are grown on the slopes of Marão. The smoked meats come from neighbouring villages, produced according to family recipes.
The proximity with the producers is part of our identity — and of the quality you find on the plate.
Cuisine passed down through the family
The cozido à portuguesa, the kid roasted in the wood-fired oven, the bacalhau fritters — these are recipes that have crossed generations without being lost. Here they continue to be made the same way: no shortcuts, no rush.
The corn bread and wheat bread are baked in-house every day, to accompany every course from the first starter.
